6 Servings (Makes about 12 waffles, depending on the waffle iron size)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 teaspoon Magnolia-Star Vanilla Extract
  • 1 teaspoon Magnolia-Star Cinnamon Butter Extract

For Cinnamon Butter Topping:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Magnolia-Star Cinnamon Butter Extract
Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Add the milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and cinnamon butter extract to the beaten eggs. Stir until the wet ingredients are well combined.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps in the batter are okay.
  4. Preheat your waffle iron according to its instructions.
  5. Once the waffle iron is ready, ladle the waffle batter onto the iron, spreading it evenly. The amount of batter will depend on the size of your waffle iron, but aim for enough to cover the center and fill it without overflowing.
  6. Close the waffle iron and cook the waffles until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  7. While the waffles are cooking, prepare the cinnamon butter topping. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, powdered sugar, and ground cinnamon until smooth and well combined.
  8. Once the waffles are done, remove them from the waffle iron and place them on a plate.
  9. Spread a generous dollop of the cinnamon butter topping on each warm waffle.
  10. Optionally, you can dust the waffles with a little extra powdered sugar or a sprinkle of ground cinnamon for an added touch.
  11. Serve the cinnamon butter waffles warm and enjoy the deliciously fragrant and buttery goodness!
