Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (canned or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Magnolia-Star Pumpkin Extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Magnolia-Star Vanilla Extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, melted butter, granulated sugar, pumpkin extract, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until the ingredients are well combined and smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, distributing them evenly throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out into an even layer.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
  8. Once baked, remove the pumpkin chocolate chip bars from the oven and allow them to cool in the baking dish for about 10 minutes.
  9. After cooling slightly, carefully lift the bars out of the baking dish using the edges of the parchment paper (if using) and transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once completely cooled, cut the bars into 12 squares or rectangles.
  11. Serve and enjoy these delicious Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bars with a glass of milk or a warm cup of coffee!
